3 hours ago comment added JBentley It's not at all standard to include such provisions. You may or may not include them and there are many reasons why you would or wouldn't. In my jurisdiction (England & Wales) the vast majority of trusts are bare trusts which by definition cannot be changed by the settlor.

8 hours ago comment added Nate Eldredge As I understand it, he's not changing the beneficiaries. They will still own, through the trust, the same shares of the companies as before. The fight is over which of them will control how the companies operate.
