According to iubenda [1], a cookie consent is required in mobile apps too, though I did not see many apps following this advice yet. The realization of such a cookie consent on web sites is typically a banner-like window which consists of

  • the reason(s) why cookies are needed
  • a link to the privacy policy
  • and an accept button to accept using cookies.

My app is designed such that it already asks for the user's confirmation to the privacy policy and terms of use on the first app start. Is besides of that an additional cookie consent required? I don't think as the privacy policy already informs about the cookie usage, thus it does not generate any additional value.

I should think you could modify the popup to also obtain consent to the use of cookies. This would avoid the user needing to respond to multiple consent requests. You could also modify your privacy policy to explain how/when cookies are used. – David Siegel Mar 28 at 15:03
