I am a K-1 visa holder. I had my medical examination done in Jakarta, Indonesia back in December 2019 (medical plus all vaccines). All tests are healthy, all vaccines are done properly (standard procedure). I have the documents for that.

Based on Volume 8 Part b Chapter 3 https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-3#S-B: “K and V nonimmigrants applying for adjustment of status are not required to repeat the medical examination if the application was filed within one year of the date of the original medical examination…”

If I understand this correctly, I don't have to prepare form I-693 (Medical Examination). Since December 2019 is less than 1 year, I can simply omit I-693 when applying for I-485. Instead I'll attach my medical and vaccines documents from Jakarta? Is this correct? Or should I still fill out the form I-693 and attach it?

  • I think your understanding is correct. – user102008 Apr 1 at 22:44
