Legally, if I send a communication to a agent, is that legally equivalent to sending it to the principal?

Relatedly, if I send a legal communication to an agent, to what if any degree is that equivalent to sending said communication to the principal, especially with respect to imposing responsibilities.

For example, in the inspiring question, a Texas landlord is required by legal code to give their name and address to a tenant who requests it, but said tennant only has the contact information of the management company. Does the management company have to forward such a request to the landlord? As the landlord's agent, is making this request to the management company equivalent to making it to the landlord?
