Which countries' judgements are recognized in India ? Will they still be enforced by Indian courts if defendant is able to prove that it is unreasonable or economically infeasible to follow these judgements? I mean which countries court orders are given legal significance in India . I am asking about data privacy laws . For example if a country whose makes a law that users may request their data be delivered to them in any quantity on pages made of gold overnight and them try to enforce it on a corporation in India which was doing business there by punishing its CEO with imprisonment being is it going to be " recognized " and enforced in India?

Down/close voter, can you please explain why you think this is a bad question? – sharur Feb 5 at 6:03

I'm not any of the voters, but based on the close votes (for "Needs more focus") I would guess it's because of the two questions. To my eye, they're related enough that it's arguably one question with a follow-up. I voted to leave open. – Ryan M Feb 5 at 7:20
  • Thanks for supporting the question . It is bit general and I think it is clear what is asked . – scientist Feb 5 at 14:52

I suspect that it will depend on the area of law, too. Will an Indian court recognize the divorce abroad of a marriage that was made under Indian law? Will it accept foreign child custody decisions? Will it extradite on criminal charges? What if the crime is also a crime in India, and what if not? – o.m. Feb 5 at 15:24
  • Asking about business related like data privacy and transmission of electronic content . – scientist Feb 5 at 15:28
