I am adding my wife to the house deed using "deed creating the estate by the entirety."

The document says I am giving her 50% ownership in exchange for:

and says "check one or both."

But in reality, it's in exchange for nothing.

The wording makes it sound like I should check one.

So I should check the $ box and just put 0 as the amount?

(I'm in Portland, OR, USA)

I don't know about Oregon conveyancing laws, but in contract law a peppercorn is sometimes used in order to satisfy a party's consideration to complete the contract without an actual payment being made. – Rock Ape Mar 19 at 19:46
