I recently had an idea to create and sell add-ons to a software that is commercially available, but very expensive. I only have access to the software through my university student account. I wouldn't strictly require the software, other than to test my add-ons. Would it be legal to sell the add-ons I create? If not, what would be the easiest way to make this legal?

2It's possible that your proposed use of the university's license to the software does not allow this use. You may want to investigate that before using it. Generally, however, the use of APIs and interfaces are covered under the software's license agreement. You should understand the terms and conditions.– jwh20Oct 18, 2022 at 13:38
