Would it be legal for a business to provide only unisex multi person restrooms for use?

Let's say for some reason a business owner decided to make all their restrooms unisex. These are not single-person rooms, but larger restrooms with numerous toilets (and possible urinals).

Is there any reason this would not be allowed legally? I know there are requirements for restrooms, but I'm not aware of any requirement that explicitly states there must be separate accommodations for separate sexes. Can an owner provide aonly unisex multi-person restroom if they so chose?

Let's use my home state of Maryland where state law is relevant.

simplified; took out what author said to ignore; removed motivation of hatred (author doesn't seem to indicate this is an important aspect of the question)

Out of simple curiosity, letsLet's say for some reason a business owner decided they hated segregated restrooms, and so madeto make all their restrooms unisex. TheseThese are not single person-person rooms, but larger restrooms with numerous toilets (and possible urinals?). Thus effectively forcing both sexes to share restroom space even if they would prefer not to if they want to use the restrooms.

Is there any reason this would not be allowed legally? II know there are requirements for restrooms, but I'm not aware of onesany requirement that explicitly statestates there must be separate accommodations for separate sexes. Ignoring the fact this this businessCan an owner will likely have trouble retaining employees and/or customers can they do thisprovide a unisex multi-person restroom if they so chose?
