According to the BBC news last night, the latest violence in Israel / Palestine began after Palestinians were evicted from their homes in favour of Israelis. It seems highly draconian to someone like me living on the other side of Europe (Ireland, a place with a rather infamous history with evictions), and not something that would normally be allowed in a modern democracy.

What laws does the Israeli government have (or use) to evict people from their homes?
